John Mills John Mills (CEO) purchased Jamestown Distributors in 1997. Since then the business has grown and sales have more than doubled. The key to this growth is the dedicated and very capable employees. When the best people are working for you, John's philosophy is to back off and let them do their jobs unhindered by micro-managing. John's passions have always been boating and wood working. Combining his avocations with a successful business is a tremendous pleasure. He lives in Portsmouth, RI with his wife. They are blessed with six wonderful grandchildren.

	Mike Mills Mike (the President of Jamestown Distributors) started in the warehouse ten years ago when the business was still located in Jamestown. He slowly worked his way into the marketing department and then the call center, and now, finally, somehow they put him in charge! The products and the website are his passion, but he does have to do some managing and general administrative things, as well. He and his wife Nina have three little girls. He enjoys sailing, fishing, surfing and kitesurfing. Mike grew up sailing dinghies in high school and college. After college he raced 505s and A Class catamarans... until he discovered kiteboarding. During the winter you'll find him in the shop working on a beetlecat or taking his kids skiing.

	Barbara Smith Barbara joined Jamestown Distributors in February of 2004 as the Manager of Accounting and Human Resources. Barbara and her co-worker Linda Dallaire are responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Benefits Administration, Recruiting, and Cookouts (the latter being the one they take most seriously). Barbara's previous experience includes managing groups responsible for software development, network installation and implementation, end-user support, and IT administration. Married with two teenage boys, Barbara enjoys cooking, gardening, reading and worrying what the two teenage boys are doing.

	Ted Winston Ted is the Purchasing Manager at Jamestown Distributors. A year after graduating from the College of Charleston, Ted started at JD in 2003 as a retail store sales associate. He worked in the Call Center, as Store Manager, and in the Marketing/Web Development group before he finally found a home in the Purchasing Department in 2004. His current responsibilities include making sure we don't run out of stuff to sell and managing our expert team of purchasers and web content writers. Ted grew up sailing in Rhode Island and that still has a large influence on his life. He races the family-owned J/24 along with some other big boats, and competes in the occasional ocean race. Other interests include golf, skiing, sunsets and long walks on the beach.

	Melanie Curley Melanie is the Manager of Sales and Customer Service. She started with Jamestown Distributors in January of 2005 as a call center sales associate, and was promoted to her current position in December of 2005. Keeping customers satisfied, resolving service issues and ensuring that the customer service team is well-trained and well-informed are her main responsibilities. She has previous experience in retail, manufacturing and distribution. When she is not at the office harassing the help, Melanie enjoys gardening and entertaining.

	Rui fernandes Rui is the Warehouse Manager and has worked for Jamestown Distributors for four and a half years. Prior to that, he worked in retail for seven years. At 28 years of age, Rui has nine years of management experience (he is an early bloomer!). Born in St Michael, Azores, he was raised in Fall River, MA, and is fluent in two languages - English and Portuguese (four if you want to count Gibberish and Pig Latin). Rui's first job at Jamestown Distributors consisted of boxing hundreds of fasteners into boxes of 100, and now he has been managing our warehouse since 2006 (a true success story). In addition to managing our inventory, Rui and his team ensure that all of our orders are picked, packed and shipped to our customers daily. When not here at Jamestown Distributors, Rui enjoys the Boston Red Sox, and has been a big fan since the early 90's. He is, of course, a member of Red Sox Nation. He also enjoys football and loves hockey, that's right, hockey still lives on in Rui's heart!

	Call Center We take a lot of pride in our customer service. The voice of Jamestown Distributors is an important part of the service that we provide. We know that our customer service is better than our competition and we also know that our Technical Support and our product knowledge is what really set us apart. 	Marketing Our Marketing team puts together the catalog and the website. Working with the Merchandising team to add all of the new products as well as developing an enormous amount of Technical information to help you. New product demonstration videos, How-to articles, Product reviews and content on boatbuilding.net are all being updated daily. Not to mention the JD Emails, that get sent every week to keep the customers "up to speed" on all these changes as well as offering hot exclusive deals on our best products. We work extremely hard to find the best new products at the best possible price. We devote hours testing and learning about the products that we sell in our in-house workshop. In the last year we have added thousands of new fasteners, paints, hardware, boating supplies and power tools to help you with your projects.

	Shipping We pride ourselves in being able to ship Internationally, down to the Caribbean and around the globe. Staying on top of all the rules for hazardous materials and customs regulations is what it takes to get your package to your door in the most efficient manner. We know that you don't have the time to deal with this, we want to make it easy for you and hassle free.

	Receiving Maintaining our inventory is critical to our success. We also know that communicating our inventory with you is important and that is why we display it on our website and talk to you about it when you call. We have invested a lot of money and time into our inventory control systems to make sure that we have the products that you need when you want them.

	Picking Our high-tech warehouse is fully bar-coded so that the picking team can process your order in hyper speed. Using handhelds the pickers are assigned a route through the warehouse where they scan the products for your order (and many others) while they place them into their cart. At the end of their route their carts are full with maybe a dozen complete orders all in individual totes and ready to be packed and shipped.

	Dana Berube Dana was a longtime customer of Jamestown Distributors dating back to 1979. His first project that brought him to Jamestown Distributors was a 1930 Model A Ford street rod. The car was an original, all-steel body, fenders and frame assembled from the proverbial basket-case. He purchased many spools of marine grade wire, terminals, battery cable and other electrical hardware from JD for this project. He also used thousands of stainless steel fasteners to provide a classy, chrome-like detail finish. JD brass escutcheon pins were used to reattach the original sheet metal to the replacement wood body kit. He joined the JD family in February of 2006. He is now a product manager in the JD Marketing Department. A native Rhode Islander, he enjoys sailing on Narragansett Bay with his wife and son. He is in the process of a complete refit of a classic Triton that was built by Pearson in Bristol, RI nearly five decades ago. An admitted power tool junkie, he can usually be found in the JD showroom drooling over the latest tools from Fein and Festool.

	Dan Gendreau Dan joined Jamestown Distributors in April 2005, and manages our web marketing efforts. His primary responsibility is to make sure that customers find Jamestown Distributors when searching the internet for the items we carry. Dan comes from a sailing family, and enjoys spending time aboard his father's Catalina 34. A self-admitted music snob and fan of obscure bands you will not like, Dan has played guitar in a number of Rhode Island bands. He also enjoys skiing, bicycling, kayaking, and is an avid vintage Porsche enthusiast.

	John Hunt John started at Jamestown Distributors in November, 2004 working in the warehouse. In February 2005 he became a sales associate in the Jamestown call center. In August 2006 John became a purchasing agent, a position which he holds today. John earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Paralegal Studies from Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI. He enjoys snorkeling, scratch-built model making, and writing about non-fiction events.

	Michael Reardon Michael joined the JD Product Management team in 2007. After a decade afloat aboard dive and sail charters, whale watch vessels and commercial ferries in New England and Caribbean, Capt. Mike has taken up the pen to write web content for the JD website. He is a graduate of Holy Cross College and holds a 200 ton captains license. When not at the desk or in the workshop, Michael may be found instructing new generations of divers and captains.

	Liz Pettengill Originally from Portland, ME, Liz began as an intern at JD in May 2008 while she was studying at Roger Williams University. She graduated in August with a BA in Communications, a BA in Dance and Performance Studies and began working full time for the company as Product Manager and Photographer. Liz has a wide variety of interests, too many to list, but in general enjoys being active, being outdoors, art, music and pretty much anything that constitutes a good time... Hi Mom!

	TJ Harris TJ joined Jamestown Distributors in October of 2007 and started off launching new product lines to the website while providing tech support to the call center. He still launches products but is now in charge of the JD workshop, performing How-to videos and coordinating training with our sales reps. TJ is originally from Palm Beach FL where he started fishing, diving and surfing at a young age. Today he enjoys spending time with his two sons, surfing, and fishing. He served 5 years active duty in the U.S. Coast Guard where he participated in numerous Search & Rescue missions and High Interest Vessel boarding's. He has an extensive background as a marine mechanic, and worked for various high-end boat builders along the East Coast

	Skip Tabor I joined the JD team on a steamy day in August, 2004 when we were all working in an un-air-conditioned factory building that had been converted into offices & a warehouse. At the time there was very little in the way of any IT department. Since then we have grown the IT department considerably and designed & built this awesome website you're on right now. We've also moved the company to a new building implementing a new network infrastructure from the ground up. Today we are still working on the website, making it better, more usable & adding shiny new features. In my free time I enjoy playing with computers; taking them apart, putting them together, breaking 'em, fixing 'em, etc. I also love music & spend lots of time making beats using all kinds of tools, from software synths & sequencers to analog modulars & old circuit bent toys. I suppose the underlying theme here is that if there's electricity running through it, I'm probably into it.

	Joanna Nettlefield Joanna came to Jamestown Distributors as an intern in June of 2008 working with the media production department. After being asked to come on full time, she decided to test the patience of Jamestown, and asked to take a 3 month Europe vacation before beginning her job. Somehow they agreed, and Joanna is now back in Bristol, RI and is still working with the media production department editing and producing how-to videos and product demos. Thanks to an endless supply of free coffee, Joanna is the extremely energized girl you see introducing most of our videos online. When the "JD Girl" isn't sorting through her fan mail, editing the company's Facebook page, or producing a video, she enjoys a wide variety of activities which range from tennis to swing dancing. 	Brian Perry I came to the JD dream team in August 08 from a large boat dealership. I just got married to my lovely wife in September 08 and we are expecting our first child in August 09. I work as a call center technician and specialize in general boat parts and engine parts. Some of the manufacturers I am familiar with are Mercruiser, Volvo Penta, OMC, Crusader etc… also Mercury outboards and Yamaha. In the winter time I can be found on the local lakes ice fishing (that’s right ladies we do fish between the cocktails) and in the summer I can be found fluke fishing on Narragansett bay. I have been in the marine business for about 5-6 years and continue to learn new things everyday and have been around boats since I was a young lad. I have a 14 foot aluminum boat with a 50 HP Mercury (way overpowered) that has lost many rivets and has a few cracks. One of my favorite products is Gluv-It. When I am not being harassed by my boss I can be reached at extension 123.

	Ed Botelho Ed is our receiving manager and has been with Jamestown Distributors for 5 years. He is a graduate of U. Mass Dartmouth (way back in the day), more recently NEIT and comes with many years of retail experience. He oversees the receiving and putting away of incoming freight and boy does it ever come in. He also works with inventory control, making sure all phases of this operation run smoothly. Our goal is get the freight out to you, our customers right away and this begins with receiving freight accurately and efficiently, of which he and his partner Joe do a great job. Ed and his wife have 2 adult sons. His interests include sports, (long time Patriot's season ticket holder), travel, and he has for many years played his guitar in area churches.

	Frank Kruse Frank is a member of the Customer Service team and has 35 years in marketing and sales for major national Retailers and Manufacturers. He has spent the last Seven years working with Jamestown customers on all sorts of weird projects. As the youngest of the, Over Sixties Gang, nothing wurks and everything hurts. He has a wife and 4 grandkids that he enjoys torturing with all kinds of silly stories or throwing snowballs at them on Club Penguin. He also likes fishing and reading obtuse materials. In all his years he has never seen a company more dedicated to making the shopping experience enjoyable, educative, and efficient.

	Martha Colella Martha has been around boats her entire life. She loves being on the water, whether surfing, sailing or kayaking; all of which she grew up doing with her family. She graduated from Roger Williams University in May 2009 with a BA in graphic design and began working on design projects at JD the following January. When she's not busy designing, or out on the water, Martha can be found enjoying a variety of outdoor activities, from skiing the slopes in the Winter, to longboarding and searching for new, untraveled bike trails in the warmer seasons.

	Dave Gardner Dave has been working with Jamestown since the spring of 2000 when he moved to Rhode Island to manage the print catalog. His responsibilities include managing the content, production and fulfillment of the mail-order catalogs. Dave is also responsible for customer analytics and other database reporting. Dave has held previous jobs as an editor, counselor for juvenile delinquents, carpenter and professional sailor. He has crossed the Atlantic twice and thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail. He now lives in New Hampshire with his wife and two children.

	Mark Silva Mark joined Jamestown Distributors in 2007, after graduating Johnson and Wales University with a degree in Business Management. As a Product Development Manager, he deals with products on a daily basis. His primary responsibilities include finding new lines for JD to sell, and making sure they get onto the website through a series of processes. He does his best to make sure we offer the best products at a competitive price, and gets them from the catalog to our website with the help of his elite team. He’s tough to find between May and September, unless you’re fortunate enough to know where his top-secret fishing spots are. He holds a 100-ton Master Captain’s license, and runs a sport-fishing charter business with his father during the summer.

	Skip Mattos Skip is our Sales Manager for Commercial Accounts. He comes to us with experience in many different areas of the marine world, including spars and rigging, boatbuilding, sailmaking and performance optimization. He has been involved with the development and sailing of a wide variety of boats from production daysailors, performance cruisers and grand prix race boats. Skip grew up sailing in Rhode Island, which he still spends a lot of his time doing. When not at work he enjoys restoring boats, cycling and racing. He currently sails Lasers, J24s, a Seasprite 23 and a Club Swan 42.

	History Jamestown Distributors started selling Marine Fasteners to local boat builders and boatyards in 1977. Since then, our offering has grown to include marine epoxies, fiberglass and composite materials as well as marine paints, hardware and tools. We pride ourselves in offering the best selection of marine fasteners available, including everything silicon bronze, stainless steel, brass and galvanized. We literally started the business by stocking the "hard-to-find fasteners" and we are proud to say that is still one of our goals. Jamestown Distributors has always been a family-owned and run business. It started in a small hardware store (with a barn in the back and a shed with a skunk) in Jamestown, Rhode Island. Needing more space the company moved to Bristol in 2001 and then moved to an even larger space (40,000 sq ft) in 2005. Our success has always been due to the loyalty of our customers.
