The Megaware KeelGuard helps to eliminate costly repairs, and in turn can also help to increase the value of your boat since wear and damage to your boat's keel can break down its protective gelcoat finish, allowing water to reach and destroy the fiberglass laminates.
The precise, abrasive-resistant blend of polymers and urethane's ensure optimal durability and pliability, while a pressure-sensitive adhesive creates the strength that permanently bonds and seals KeelGuard's contoured edges to the hull surface. Angled grooves produce hydrodynamic channels, creating air pockets and providing a slicker surface. The combination of all these factors make Megaware KeelGuard not only the easiest keel protector to install, but also give it unparalleled quality and dependability. With extensive research and the latest in adhesive technology Megaware KeelGuard has been able to produce a product that is so tough and reliable that they back it with a lifetime warranty.
The SkuffBuster helps to protect your boat's gelcoat and minimize roller and trailer scuffs. This product bends to conform to the hull and is constructed from an anti-corrosive, 22-gauge 304 stainless steel. Using a 3M pressure-sensitive adhesive, the ScuffBuster products attach to your boat's surface.
The FlexStep offers a safe and convenient way to access any trailer boat, by mounting the FlexStep to the side of your boat trailer you can easily gain access to rod lockers, tackle compartments or for cleaning or accessing your windshield.

How does it stick on?
The Megaware KeelGuard uses an advance 3M pressure sensitive adhesive tape that is already bonded to the Keel Guard. By simply preparing the keel with the provided tools and primer, the KeelGuard adheres to the hull creating a permanent bond, giving you years of protection and performance.
Will installing the KeelGuard create drag and reduce the speed of my boat or PWC?
No, designed with hydrodynamics in mind, KeelGuard features a patented drag reduction design that will not slow a boat or diminish its performance. In fact, on smaller boats and PWC's it is not uncommon to experience an increase of 1-2 miles per hour on top end speed.
Does a dealer need to install the KeelGuard or can I do it myself?
While many of our dealers can install the KeelGuard for you, each KeelGuard comes as a kit and has all the tools and materials for installation, by following the included step-by-step instructions, you can install yourself in about one hour or less.
Will the KeelGuard go over stakes or chines?
Yes, it is made of a very pliable material and will easily conform to most hull strakes and angles.
What is the KeelGuard made of?
The KeelGuard is a composite constructed from a blend of polymers and urethane's with special plasticizers and UV inhibitors to provide the very best blending of abrasion resistance and bonding qualities.
Is it possible to remove the KeelGuard, and if so, will it damage the gel coat?
In the unlikely event that you need to remove a KeelGuard, it can be done. The 3M adhesive is designed to shear apart if enough strength and energy is exerted. While some of the adhesive may remain on the boat, this remaining adhesive can be removed with a plastic or nylon putty knife or a decal/pinstripe removal disk.
Can I apply the KeelGuard over boat bottom paint or anti-fouling paint?
KeelGuard should not be applied over boat-bottom or anti-fouling paint, since anti-fouling paints are designed to wear off over time this makes them not an ideal bonding surface since often times when the paint fails or pulls away from the boat it may take the KeelGuard with it. If boat bottom or anti-fouling paint is already on the boat, it should be sanded off the area where the it will be applied to insure a permanent bond of the 3M adhesive. However, boat bottom or anti-fouling paint may be applied over it once it has been installed.
