SEMCO Teak Products
Invented back 1976 by Lawrence Serra when he could not find any product on the market to keep his teak looking good. Semco has spread worldwide relying strictly on word of mouth. Over time, sun and weather will cause surface erosion to teak, leading to discoloration, mildew, graying, roughness and checking, these Semco products help to overcome these issues. Semco is used on pleasure boats, aboard cruise ships, in theme parks and is recommended by major teak furniture dealers.

While there are a variety of "teak oils" on the market for the protection of teak, these oils usually consist on linseed or tung oil mixed with mineral spirits. When they are first applied they give a nice finish to the wood, however, when left outdoors the teak oil wear away in just weeks and soon requires re-coating. With each re-coat the oiled finish becomes darker and the surface become sticky and collects dirt. The organic waste that is produced from these oils provides the perfect environment for the growth of mold and mildew, requiring the wood to be completely restored in just a short period of time. However, with Semco products do not contain silicone, varnish, polymers or any of the exotic oils that cause these problems. Semco teak products also work in a similar fashion on other types of wood such as Iroko, Mahogany, Redwood, Ash, Jatoba, Ipe and Butternut.
Semco Teak Sealer
This teak sealer provides long lasting natural looking protection. Lasts through the season and can be renewed without deep cleaning or stripping for years. Repels water without being slippery. Relieves the drudgery of constant teak maintenance, known worldwide as the best in teak protection. Teak sealer helps to preserve teak in its natural color for an extended period of time, it is a solvent based teak finish with water-like viscosity containing pigments, mildewcide, UV inhibitors and moisture protection. When applied properly to teak it will look as though nothing is on it, yet it will not turn gray or support the growth of mildew. With a mild detergent surface oil can be washed away and seasonal re-coating of the teak will preserve it in its natural state for many years.
