Vetus Waste Water Control Panel Installation


General


The waste water control panel shows the level in the waste water tank on a LED display with 4 LEDs for 25, 50, 75 and 100%. When the tank is full the red 100% LED on the display will flash. The panel has a key lock to prevent the tank being emptied by accident. The automatic tank monitoring or pump cycle can be switched on when the key lock is switched off. The tank will be emptied automatically when it is full when the tank monitoring system is switched on. It is also possible to connect an external relay to the panel to interrupt the power to the toilet. The relay will be activated when the tank is 90% full. An electrically operated valve which will be opened automatically before the pump is switched on can also be connected to the panel.

Operating



The panel is switched on/off with the on/off button. When the panel is switched on the green LED above the button will be on. If the battery voltage is too low this green LED will flash.

Holding the two keys in for 5 seconds cancels the key lock for 10 seconds.

The pump cycle can be started/ stopped with the manual operation key. The green LED above the key shows that the pump cycle is active. When the tank has been pumped empty the pump cycle will be stopped and the LED will go out.

The auto key is used to switch the automatic tank monitoring on/off. The green LED above the key shows that the automatic tank monitoring is switched on.

The green pump LED will be on when the pump is switched on. If the level in the tank level does not drop sufficiently within a certain time the red pump LED will come on and an audible alarm signal will be given.

The green valve LED is on when the valve is closed and flashes when the valve is open. If the valve is not opened or closed within 40 seconds after switching the pump cycle on/off the red pump LED will come on and an audible alarm signal will be given.

Installation

There are two connectors on the back of the panel, one 5-pole and one 8-pole. A 10 Amp fuse must be included in the + connection to the battery. If an electrically operated valve is used there must also be a fuse in the wire that is connected to terminal 4 of the electrically operated valve. See the manual for the valve for the value of the fuse to be used.

Settings

There are a number of settings that can be changed according to the pump used and the tank size. These are the maximum and minimum level that can be measured by the float sensor, the after-run time of the pump, the level change time and whether an electrically operated valve is connected. These settings can be changed in the installation menu. The installation menu is accessed by holding the on/off button in for 10 seconds when the panel is switched on. There will be a long beep after 10 seconds and the LED above the on/off button will flash. The installation menu will be exited automatically if no key is pressed during one minute or by pressing the on/off button again.

Setting maximum tank level


Press on the manual operation key until the LED above the manual key comes on. Keep the float at the top of the tank and press the auto key. The maximum tank level has now been set.

Setting minimum tank level


Press on the manual operation key until the LED above the auto key comes on. Keep the float at the bottom of the tank and press the auto key. The minimum tank level has now been set.

Setting after-run time


The pump can run a few minutes after the tank has been pumped empty. This is desirable if the level sensor does not measure over the whole of the tank. The after-run time is set as standard to 20 minutes. Press the manual key until the valve LED comes on. Press the auto key and the LEDs showing the tank level will come on. The times correspond to the following percentages:
30 s level 0%
5 min level 25%
10 min level 50%
20 min level 75%
30 min level 100%

Setting the level change time


If the level in the tank does not drop by 2% within a certain time after activating the pump cycle this will be interrupted automatically and an alarm signal will sound. If the level does not drop it can mean that the pump is blocked. Press the manual key until the pump LED comes on. Press the auto key and the LEDs showing the tank level will come on. The times correspond to the following percentages:
2.5 min level 0%
5 min level 25%
10 min level 50%

Setting the electrically operated valve


Press the manual key until only the LED above the on/off button flashes. If the auto key is operated the 100% LED will then go on or off. Off means that the panel is set for an electrically operated valve and on that it is set for a manually operated valve.
