Inside Sale Representative
At Jamestown Distributors, we love boats. Our focus is in helping boaters repair, build and take care of their boats. Position Outline: Provide customer service and sales for Jamestown Distributors through consumer and commercial accounts in a personable manner. Provide customer service for all accounts through consistent contact and follow-up skills. Use knowledge of JD systems and materials to research information, process orders, provide problem-solving support, and tech support, within a timely manner, to maintain customer satisfaction, and account retention.
Primary Responsibilities:*Contributes to customer satisfaction by providing information to customers and sales representatives via telephone, fax, and email. Respond to inquiries regarding product availability, order status, product specifications, payment terms, sales programs, and JD policies.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Processes customer orders and manage transaction details; including accurate and timely order input, verifying and communicating customer information, items ordered, quantity and prices, shipping costs and details, additional items needed for the customer including substitutions, TotalBoat sales offers, answer technical calls, process internet orders, and other transaction processes as necessary.
  • Follow up on all verbal and written communications, and with consumer, account, and rep requests daily to insure satisfaction.
  • Administer the service for a specific territory of commercial accounts. Maintain scheduled daily outbound calling contact with territory accounts to anticipate needs and provide pro-active customer service support.
  • Manage customer service systems daily to insure that orders are being expedited.
  • Report any irregularities or potential problems to the Call Center Manager.
  • Contribute to the efficiency of the sales department and Jamestown Distributors by performing other related duties, as assigned.
Desired Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. or demonstrated skills in organization, written and oral communication.
  • Computer literacy required, able to learn menu-driven ERP system, MS Excel, MS Word, including typing skills of 30 WPM.
  • Minimum of three years of customer service related experience. Must be able to demonstrate experience in customer relations and follow through skills. Marine industry experience, marine retail experience, and equivalent knowledge a plus.

Retail Sales Associate

Jamestown Distributors is looking for a Retail Store Sales Associate for our Bristol facility. Retail sales experience is required and boat building or boating experience is a big plus. The successful candidate will also have data entry and computer experience and excellent communication skills. This position requires attention to detail and good math skills. Inside Sales/Customer Service Manager

If you are a smart, driven sales and customer focused leader who has experience building and managing customer service centers and sales teams, we are hiring! You MUST have proven experience building successful call centers.

The company's focus is on building a cutting edge e-commerce environment to strengthen our internet presence and to grow the company. The Inside Sales and Customer Services Manager is responsible for all activities of Jamestown Distributors customer service center and expanding the sales efforts from maintaining existing sales and generating additional revenue from the sales of branded and non-branded products.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversees preparation of customer orders and handling of all correspondence with customers and company personnel dealing with inquiries, routing, shipping dates, pricing, specifications, product knowledge, and matters of a similar nature.
  • Supervises the activities of the customer service group. Develops strategies to ensure the highest level of expertise is provided to the customer.
  • Analyzes existing outside sales effort and makes suggestions for expansion/improvement. Directs the execution of all sales orders, making sure that all terms, pricing, and specifications relating to the orders are acceptable. Monitors sales outlets to assist them in the promotion and selling of product (both branded and OEM) and monitors customer service activities to assure sales objectives are being met.
  • Assures that pricing follows the established policy.
  • Acts as a liaison between customers, company personnel, and agents in handling questions and problems dealing with deliveries, specifications, inspections, etc.
  • Reviews the methods in use in the day-to-day activities of the customer service group, making improvements and revisions as required. Monitors field sales and competitive activities for new developments in the market place.
  • Communicates on a timely basis with appropriate department managers on potential problem areas resulting from special order requirements concerning such items as back-orders, stock shortages, late delivery penalties, product liability exposure, new material specifications, credit risks, etc.
  • Develops and maintains accurate records on all accounts and key contacts within those accounts.
  • Provide timely reports on sales activities.
  • Responsible for the scheduling, training, monitoring, and evaluating of customer service personnel.
  • Establishes and maintains a professional relationship between the company and its customers.

Store Lead

A a store lead key holder, the responsibilities are to help the store manager oversee the productivity of our retail store and the day-to-day operations of the business. Accountabilities include training staff and ensuring that store policies are upheld. They are also required to maintain excellent customer service and to oversee the merchandising of the store.

STORE JOB DUTIES (other duties may be assigned)
  • Management of all store operational issues, to include store housekeeping, store administrative duties, physical inventories, price changes, etc.
  • Maintain knowledge of our products’ features, values and benefits.
  • Perform all duties and interactions in a professional manner.
  • Ensure that sales software is used to correctly record every transaction.
  • Be aware of current promotional items
  • Train and evaluate store employees. Schedule, organize and direct assignments.
  • Provide a positive working environment and handle employee issues appropriately and in a timely manner
  • Performs work of subordinates as needed.
  • Ensures store is open and ready for business on the appropriate days and hours.
  • Ensure all procedures are being followed.

  • Need to check calling queues daily
  • Will also need to check trouble queues at least twice a week.
  • Relocating and repricing any clearance to the clearance section in the store.
  • Meet with the buyers weekly to ensure correct merchandise is in the store.
