Onne's Biography
World-class nautical photographer, Onne van der Wal, has used
his extensive sailing experience to his advantage. During
the 1981-82 Whitbread Around the World Race, Onne paired his
photographic skills with his sailing skills shooting his first
major magazine article for American sailing journal, SAIL
Magazine. Since that time, Onne has used his keen eye to capture
the “behind the scenes” look and feel of the yachting world.
His love for travel, beautiful yachts and first-rate photography
take him around the world to exotic destinations on assignments
where he is able to combine these passions.
A Dutch native raised in South Africa, Onne now bases his
business in Newport, Rhode Island where he fills his summers
with commercial and editorial photography assignments, and
travels extensively during the New England winters. Onne lives
in Jamestown, RI with his wife and family and enjoys spending
his free time fishing, camping, bodysurfing and tinkering
in his workshop.

Alison Langley Photography
Alison Langley has provided some of the photos on our website and in our print catalogs. A passionate photographer and an experienced sailor, Alison says this of her career in marine photography:
"After studying film at NYU and photography at RISD, I traveled to Sydney Australia where I worked in the film industry for four years... I quickly learned the business side of the arts and, perhaps more importantly, I learned that my first love was photography. So I traded my traveling shoes for sailing shoes, and crewed on various yachts which took me around Australia, through the North & South Pacific, South East Asia, and across the Indian Ocean to Africa. I dove into a photography career and honed a specialty for shooting sailing and travel images. During this voyage, I created a substantial travel/sailing stock library and published my images and stories regularly in magazines such as Cruising World, Marie Claire, Sail, Islands and Patagonia."
