3M 05773 5 inch x 5 hole Interface Pads are grip faced (hook and loop/velcro), made of foam, and are used between the back-up pad and the finishing disc for extra cushion in contour sanding. Extra cushion lets you follow contours and get closer to edges when sanding.

Felt backing does not stick to the sander. If you lift your sander, the pad flies away.
