Comments about Jamestown Distributors Bronze Wool:
I use the bronze wool to finely polish exotic woods I use in my guitar/stringed instrument making business (Luthierie). Bronze wool is a must in place of steel wool so that no steel fibers remain to eventually rust and discolor the wood or finish.
Although the fine bronze wool works very well to get a quick shine on hardwoods I would like to see a very or extra fine version of it to get a really spectacular shine on wood like ebony.

I use the fine bronze wool to lightly rough up the surface between coats of varnish. It works great - doesn't rust.

Have been turning bowls for some time. Sandpaper does not leave a satisfactory finish for staining. Steel wool leaves a smoother finish but is messy to use; it disintegrated and fragments stick into my fingers. Bronze wool provides an exceptional finish; it does not crumble or break up. Also, if a tiny piece remains in the wood, it does not rust and create problems like steel wool. I highlt recommend the Jamestown products.
