This is a heavy-duty, high quality battery terminal crimping tool. I have also used the lower cost Ancor battery crimper that works with a hammer, which is adequate for a few quick crimps. But if you are refitting and want permanent, high-quality crimps that will last, you need to use this tool instead. It performs perfect crimps everytime that will last the life of the electrical system. Given the cost of battery cable and lugs, it's seems silly to scrimp on the crimping tool. You won't regret spending a few bucks more for fast and perfect crimps.

This model made a different type of crimp than what I wanted/ expected. Instead of a crimp with a tight oval depression in the underside of the lug, the tool I received squashes the lug with a blunt 4 cornered roundish die, which is perhaps better for insulated lugs. It would be good if different dies were available, as would it if any paperwork came with the tool (parts list? instructions?). It would be a good idea to show the crimp it makes in the ad, as well as the country of origin. Still, I like it.

I ordered heavy duty lugs for my windlass project that required 2/0 cable. When I saw the lugs I thought I might have to buy some regular duty. I was wrong, this crimper ate them up no problem.
I did not know what to expect for the reasonable price, what I got was a heavy duty industrial tool.
Every bit as good as the $500.00 tool that I misplaced. There is no way I could have done the job on the boat with a hammer type crimper, glad I spent the extra money to get the right tool.
Too much juice goes through these cables to take any chances on anything but a good solid connection.
This is the right tool for heavy duty crimping, no doubt.

Was doing some modifications to accomodate new ABYC Main Battery Fuse requirement. A breeze with this tool.
