ValvTect Diesel Guard is a heavy duty diesel fuel additive suitable for use with marine engines. It upgrades No. 2 diesel fuel to a high cetane-content premium diesel fuel. Why does the amount of Cetane in diesel fuel mean anything? The answer is that fuels with Cetane-boosting additives improve engine performance, increase fuel economy, and reduce exhaust emissions. The Cetane boost found in Diesel Guard refreshes fuel combustibility lost during long periods of storage including boat winterization. This additive takes water out of emulsion, allowing it to be captured by fuel water separators rather than passing through into combustion chambers as weaker fuel.
