5 or 7 strand wick. So that if the seam is tight you can pull off a strand or two for a better fit. Approximately 75 Feet per 2 oz. Roll. Best choice caulking for tight planking. For varied planking, keep some Oakum on hand for wide gaps, and Caulking Cotton for medium-space gaps. Typically, on boat seams, caulking is next covered by a marine paint. Once dry, the remaining space is filled with seam compound (one for above waterline, another for below) before applying final topcoat.

It works well to fill thin seams in a wooden boat built in 1915. I use it below waterline and above. I cover it with 7110 seam compound and ablative anti fouling paint.
