West System 206 Slow Hardener is a low-viscosity epoxy curing agent for use when extended working and cure time is needed or to provide adequate working time at higher temperatures. At 72-degrees, 206 Slow Hardener will have a 20-25 minute pot life. When combined with 105 Resin in a five-part resin to one-part hardener ratio, the cured resin/hardener mixture yields a rigid, high-strength, moisture-resistant solid with excellent bonding and coating properties. Not intended for clear coating applications.

I'm now using this product with West 205 resin on a new multi-layer bottom for an antique Chris Craft. It allows plenty of time for clamping and fastening and completely cures in a couple of days resulting in a bottom much more solid and leak resistant than the original construction.

Great epoxy for using on laminating wood.
Very thin and flows out easily.
I recommend getting a good postal scale so you can do some small batches.
Easy ratio to remember, hardener is .20 of the resin.
So a 5 gram of resin needs 1 gram of hardener.
Dries real hard too.

Critical when temp is above 80 degree

I have been using WEST system since 1980. Never a problem. I balance my use of 205 and 206 hardeners for seasonal conditions. Think before you mix. Plan each project. All the best.

Great Hardener. I started using 206 slow when I was new with glass, and continue using it today because it provides a comfortable working pace. Setting project next to a space heater expedites curing once project is laid up.
