Comments about System Three System Three T-88 Universal Cartridge:
I used this to glue up what I felt wer the most critical joints when building a Bolger Bobcat catboat. The joints came out strong and none have failed.
It's fairly thick when mixed, like a warm light molasses. But when it's hot out it thins and requires a thickening agent to stay in place. When gluing up ..don't squeeze the joint so hard all the epoxy ooozes out. That's not the way to do it! Some epoxy must be left behind in the joint. Does not sand well at all. Tends to get gummy. Convenient packaging. Like the tubes. Be sure to mix properly. By VOLUME is 1:1. By WEIGHT it is 1:.83. That's important for maximum strength.
Get a small quantity and make some tests. Just be sure all joints are clean and free of dust and oils. Try varying amounts of clamp pressure and check the results before you start an important project.
I really like System Three "Gel Magic" too. Slightly more than T-88. It can be shaped and is sandable. Depends on what you are doing.
