Silica epoxy thickener is for use when an extremely hard solid with high density is needed, i.e. structural bonding, filling and filleting. Can be used alone for a very smooth finish or in conjunction with chopped fiberglass. Often times, cabosil (silica) is used to moderate the viscosity of the epoxy and is added in addition to other epoxy fillers. Silica thickener is similar to WEST Systems 406 Colloidal Silica.

I used this to thicken epoxy resin for laminating material to the inside of a fiberglass T bucket body so as to be able to cut a door in.

This brand seems to be the easist to mix in but you will need to wear a dust mask.

I purchased this product to thicken epoxy for gluing wood together. I am building a Guideboat and many joints are vertical, this product does well to thicken the epoxy and keep it from running. It is very light and fluffy, so when scooping it out of the container it is likely you will loose some as it 'poofs' out.
