Comments about Jamestown Distributors S/S Auger Point Trim Deck Screws:
CLARIFICATION-small SS screws most likely to be alloy 303 or 305, good resisting corrosion (not best), but relatively soft, low strength compared to regular steel screws. THAT is the reason one could have stripping problems, not the drive. 304 and 306 are tougher, I think. VENDOR SHOULD GIVE ALLOY USED. Fine if used CAUTIOUSLY, APPROPRIATELY
Comments about Jamestown Distributors S/S Auger Point Trim Deck Screws:
I used this screw to reinforce the corners (under the seat) of oak library chairs (children's size) I restored for an elementary school. The screw size coupled with the auger tip provided an ease of use (with pre-drilling) and good "biting" power. The only criticism I have is that the Robertson head could strip more easily than with a conventional square-head drive screw.
Robertson's fast service was also a plus!
