Silicon Bronze Wood Screws These Silicon Bronze screws have cut threads and the full-bodied diameter shank desired by boatbuilders. Unlike rolled thread screws with their reduced shank--these screws have a shank diameter that is the same size as the outside of the threads. This completely fills the clearance hole normally drilled for the shank thus creating a waterproof seal. These wood screws have a square drive recess to help prevent cam out.

THE SQUARE DRIVE HEAD IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO. Even with square drive these screws won't survive a ham fisted driver. Best to learn some touch on a power driver or get used to throwing away pricey screws. Once mastered, screws are durable and very appropriate for marine environment. I keep an assortment of sizes for a variety of uses.

So much easier to drive these soft screws without stripping the heads as has been my experience with Freerson heads.
