Brand: Jamestown Distributors
Located in: Fiberglass Supplies, Kevlar
Kevlar is a high tensile strength and high modulus composite fabric that is great for canoes, kayaks, and racing shells where maximum strength and minimal weight are critical. Impact tear and penetration resistance is far superior to fiberglass. 9 oz, 58" wide. Twill weave kevlar cloth drapes around corners easier than regular kevlar cloth, and twill weave also wets out better than plain weave kevlar. Twill weave is a basic pattern discernible by a diagonal rib, or twill line. Each end floats over at least two or more consecutive picks enabling a greater number of yarns per unit area than a plain weave, while losing little fabric stability. This type of fabric looks different on one side than on the other. The fabric is .024 in thick.

Comments about Jamestown Distributors Kevlar Cloth - Twill Weave:

This Aramid product worked perfect in reinforcing the inner walls the kayak im currently constructing. There was no deformation or separation in the material after molding and was excellent at really wetting all the way through the material. Make sure to clear a large workspace when using this product with resin, it seems to find its way all over the place.

Comments about Jamestown Distributors Kevlar Cloth - Twill Weave:

I used this fabric to make a kevlar canoe. The fabric works really well. Don't pull to hard on the fabric when laying up because the twill weave will pull apart.

We will be making a couple more canoes and we will be ordering this fabric from JTD again.
