I would recommend not purchasing these oarlocks. I bought two sets about 3 years ago for my pram. Recently one oak lock from each set failed by shearing off at the top of the shaft. This occurred TWICE with two different sets.

It was fortunate that these failures occurred close to shore and did not involve a safety issue.

Shank broke off in the oarlock while rowing in the Merrimack river after I had it for 15 months -- not a pleasant experience
