I have a few of these cases to protect expensive stuff. Best onboard protection for handheld electronics. I keep a mid-sized version in the cockpit during any delivery with my personal GPS, cell phone, handheld VHF and binos. Anything you need onhand will stay dry in wet weather with a pelican case, and when you step off, or it's time to row ashore, just grab it and take it with you. Great on a plane, too. I use a larger case to store and transport underwater camera gear. The foam insert can be customized to fit perfectly large flash units, cords, camera bodies, etc. No baby rattle effect for the good gear. Only word of caution, keep the o-ring seal clean of sand and grit and this will stay watertight. There is also a bleed nut to purge vacuum after flying. Keep it closed when underway. If the case falls overboard, no problem, most often it will float (weight dependent). For that reason, if it's on a boat, go bright.
