Hella Cabin Fan Motors

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Hella Marine Hella Universal Fans:

we have to replace the motors on hella fans every year on our hella cabin fans, the bearings just wear out and get very noisy then freeze and won't turn, during summer they run 24/7 for months, even though the package says 50,000 hours which we never see,
unfortunately you have to buy the entire fan housing just to get a motor, the housings never wear out ABS plastic !

Defective switch

Comments about Hella Marine Hella Universal Fans:

After taking the fan out of the box and connecting it to a cigar lighter plug, I turned the fan on and it blew air nicely, about what I had expected from a compact fan. However, it stopped in a few seconds. The rotary off-on switch was very erratic. Just touching it would start or stop the fan. Or it would just turn itself off in a few tens of seconds. It appeared and felt like flimsy construction.
