A guest on my Bavaria 820 recently kicked the mushroom vent off of my forward hatch. Upon being freed from it's assigned position, it of course immediately dove straight down into Davey Jones' locker! It's departure also caused a 3.25"+ hole over my berth which is not conducive to restful sleep.

This mushroom vent is a very workable replacement. Although the original vent was European (read metric) I was able to easily retro this vent to replace the original.

It opens and closes easily and appears to be an excellent choice of replacement.

Took me three years to find one the proper size for my vent hole. Easy to install and use looks great, and is very effective. Need to be careful when it is fully open, it can be a little flinsy.

The Vetus unit is the heavy duty alternative to all those plastic vents out there. The plastic units are not cheap and will not last like these SS vents. I like the rugged simplicity and good looking design.
