Wooden Paint stir sticks are commonly used to mix paints, epoxies and other general coatings. Made out of wood, these sticks may be reused, but are inexpensive enough that they are disposable as well. I also use paint mixing sticks as shelf markers in my school library. I usually number each one and the students and I find them very easy to use.

These sticks will be great for the students to use to hold their place on the shelf when they take a book down to look at it and then they will be able to return the book to it's correct place. I am going to spray paint the sticks by grade level and attach a student's picture and ID bar code onto the back of a stick so substitutes can easily check out the books to students they don't know.

I used these sticks to make the handles on wedding fan programs. These are also a good buy for crafters looking to buy in bulk.
