EP-21 is a bottom coating for aluminum boats, that is a soft ablative, photoactive bottom coating that is biocide free. EP-21 is an environmentally friendly bottom paint that can be hauled and relaunched with out effecting the performance of the antifouling properties. E Paint employs a novel mechanism to control the attachment of fouling organisms. When immersed in oxygenated water, E Paint photochemically generates minute levels of peroxides. The minute levels of peroxides make the surface inhospitable to the settling larvae of fouling organisms. Hydrogen peroxide is a potent, but short-lived chemical that has been used as an antiseptic, peroxides have been demonstrated to be effective antifouling agents. The peroxides do not persist in the environment because they quickly decompose back into oxygen and water by natural ions dissolved in the water.

Comments about ePaint ePaint EP-21 Bottom Coating for Aluminum Boats:

This paint is too thick to be able to make a uniform coat, It also dries too quickly. Once you apply it on there's not much going back to level it off because it'll start to dry so quick that you'll find a bunch of sticky residue from the coat you just applied, sort of messing up the whole coat. The paint is good because it sticks very well, but being so sticky and thick doesn't give you much of a success in achieving an eye pleasing finished product. It looks like it was just slapped on, very uneven and major orange peel. It's just too difficult to apply without a thinner, by brush or roller. I only got it because it's environmentally friendly and the color gray, but now I'm not very pleased with the appearance of the product. Here's a thought - Make a thinner for it! How hard is that now? Otherwise I just can't recommend this product (feel like redoing my whole boat again with something else, but already spent too much on this product).
