I started using Ospho in 1979. Rust stains disappear in minutes, and it makes a great preparation agent for painting steel or cast iron.

Comments about Ospho Ospho Metal Treatment:

It not only 'stops rust in it's tracks' it actually eats rust off of the metal!!
After you apply it, you think how great this works...wait until the next morning and you'll see that it worked more during the night. My old, rusty (really bad) metal patio table is now down to the metal and ready for new paint!
This is a product that you need to keep in your garage - for yard tools and equipment, if nothing else. Thank you Ospho!

Comments about Ospho Ospho Metal Treatment:

I've used Ospho for years in car restoration. Scuff well with Scotchbrite before painting to avoid adhesion problems. Steel will still rust again if only top-coated with Ospho, so you must paint the metal afterwards.

Comments about Ospho Ospho Metal Treatment:

I have been using Ospho Metal Treatment since the 70's. There is nothing else like it. It converts the rust into a benign state and retards it's return (even if not painted over).

This is the best rust remover I have ever used. It is fast, economical, simple to apply and a little goes a long way. I use a soft brush to apply the Ospho and experience little or no waste.
After using the Ospho I am able to weld the steel with no further cleaning. I am glad I found it!

Comments about Ospho Ospho Metal Treatment:

We lived in Key West for 4 years. Everything in Key West rusts except the people! It is almost impossible to completely protect against rust there.

We used it for maintenance on all things metal. It has a lot of uses and can be used on most any kind of metal. We hit the panic button if we ran out.

I use this as a primer over rusted matal and can top coat with any good acrylic base product such as Sherwin-Williams A-100, Super Paint or Duration. It is easily applied, cleans up easy, saves time and forms an excellent substrate for further applications. As with any acid it is important to protect your skin and eyes during application

Comments about Ospho Ospho Metal Treatment:

My old Crusader 270's were getting a bit rusty. Hit them hard with wire brushes both manually and via a drill. I cleaned them up, and hit them with Ospho. Ospho made a great base coat, while converting the rust. I followed that up with two coats of primer... then two coats of engine enamel. Turned out great... product holds up to it's claims.

I had to repaint a rusted shed. Ospho
was easy to use and did a terrific job of eliminating the rust. I painted the shed with Ospho on Friday on Sunday the shed look entirely different. The rust had appeared to dissolved. Great product - I gave left overs to my brother-in-law for a job he had.

Comments about Ospho Ospho Metal Treatment:

I am using Ospho on anything steel on my boats. It seems to work great even if you are not painting. This stuff seems to neutralize existing rust. You can apply it with a brush, but I prefer to put it in a spray bottle and just spray it on. You do need to protect surfaces from over spray or run off. When it reacts with the rust and runs off on to a porous surface, it can be difficult to clean up. One of my sailboats has a metal drop-down center board, on which it really made a difference.
