Comments about Pettit Z-Spar Z-Spar 105 White Enamel Undercoat:

I have used 105 for years and as an undercoat it has great build capabilities so faring a topside hull becomes easy and the finish can be made perfect. 105 goes on easily and sands to a fine powder. Good Product!

Comments about Pettit Z-Spar Z-Spar 105 White Enamel Undercoat:

Interestingly, a number of local shops were out of Interlux white Primekote so 105 was recommended as a sub. I put it over a 2 part Epoxy LPU primer and it was compatible. I'm on my third 105 coat, but this time did the additional step of foam brush tipping instead of just rolling on with a the yellow brand foam roller. I also tried a single step of rolling with a better foam roller and NO tipping. IMO, I think using the white foam rollers with smaller cells is better alone than adding a tipping step. Tipping produced strokes at 58F and about 50% humidity and 8%-10% thinner. I didn't notice a difference between using the high end ($$) thinner (Interlux 333 since the Petit thinner was out of stock) compared to True Value paint thinner. Remember to wear your safety gear (glasses, VOC mask and bunny suite) to protect against immediate and cumulative effects.
