Comments about Circa 1850 Circa 1850 Antique Paste Varnish:

Not a true paste, just thick like honey. Grabs and gets sticky on first application; second coat easier, but make sure you use a lint free cloth. I'm still waiting for a company to put out a good replacement to Barley's. Meanwhile the old way of doing it is to leave a can of marine varnish open and each day skim off the top skin; eventually you will have a good paste.

The greatest thing with this product is it can easily be changed or recoated as needed (almost never!), with a light sanding
