Fine Paints of Europe Marine Yacht Varnish is a classic alkyd varnish, formulated to the highest Dutch standards. Marine Yacht Varnish has been the coating of choice for discerning boatmen from Schoonhoven to Singapore for over one hundred years. This varnish is used by many of the finest Northern European yards. Surfaces: Marine Yacht Varnish produces an exceptionally durable, high-gloss finish on most wooden surfaces. It is not recommended for decks. Applications: Boats, yachts, outdoor furniture, doors, cabinets, furniture and window trim.

I am using this varnish on the transom of our 60 yr old wood cruiser. After two years, the finish seems fine and I am re-coating this year.
I've used the Fine Paints enamels on the decks and the interior and absolutely love the stuff. Applied carefully is creates a wonderfully creamy and color saturated coating.
The varnish seems more transparent and brighter on the wood than the Pettit stuff I have used -I suspect it is the unusual violet tint.
