Comments about Interlux Interlux Goldspar Varnish:
If you do your light prep sanding and the weather is right the only thing you have left to worry about is watching for runs on vertical surfaces. But that is true with any varnish.
Comments about Interlux Interlux Goldspar Varnish:
This is a slightly odd varnish, in that it looks gray in the can or in your paint-cup. But it goes on clear, as near as I can tell. It's a pleasure to work with. I find it spreads much better than the "Captain's" varnish that I used for many years (Z-spar). I apply it with high-density foam brushes (the ones made by JEN Mfg., and NOT the cheap ones you buy at the big box stores!) and it goes on like a dream. Last year I removed the toerails from my boat (don't ask) and while they were off, I varnished the, with this product, using a Whizz "weenie roller" and then tipping off with a foam brush; results were great.

Used on top of West System epoxy after cleaning blush and a light sanding (220 grit if I remember). Put a few coats on with another light sanding between each. It worked great, looks great.
Doesn't smell near as bad as other varnishes I've used.
varnish is on stern and bright interior

I applied this product over the West System Epoxy that I first used as a sealer. It looked like a million dollars. It was easy to use, smooth and clear color to make the wood look rich.
I am restoring my vintage hydroplane to show and run on the water.
