Bronze body with monel basket design provide the ultimate corrosion resistance in Raw Water Strainers. Serviceable sea strainers protect the vital cooling system of your engine from clogging with marine debris. Solid bronze construction features NPT threaded ports. Among the features of ARG series strainers are provisions on the strainer cap for the use of a spanner wrench to tighten or loosen the cap before or after maintenance. Hand-tight is sufficient for a good seal for Groco strainers with threaded caps, but some boaters may prefer to snug the cover beyond hand-tight. Cast bronze with 1/4 inch and 5/16 inch stainless steel pins. Opens to service deck plates or strainer caps with key holes up to 7 inches apart. Hangs conveniently near the strainer(s) location. NPT (tapered) threads should be sealed with PTFE plumbing tape or equivalent.
