Comments about Conbraco Conbraco 90 Degree Bronze Thru-Hull w/ Hose Fitting:

These are excellent fittings, well made and finished with good wall thicknesses. I would certainly recommend them to anyone needing an above the waterline through-hull. My only comment is that in order to fit them into hulls with a thickness of less than about 3/8ths. of an inch thickness it is necessary to use a spacer piece inside the hull, a good idea in any case. I cut my spacers out of 3/8" thick, heavy duty plastic board. In my case a white, professional cook's cutting board using two appropriately sized hole saws for the outside and inside of the spacer. (Cut the outside hole first!) I used plenty of of Sikaflex sealant during installation.

Comments about Conbraco Conbraco 90 Degree Bronze Thru-Hull w/ Hose Fitting:

I purchased these bronze thru hulls to replace a pair of 20 year old plastic Perko fittings. They are connect thru the hull and run to the scuppers of my sailboat. The construction is top notch, threads fit tightly and the barbed portion fits 1" inner diameter hose snugly. The interior portion of the fitting has a recessed notch which allowed an extra dollop of silicone to seal the connection. The exterior/threaded/male portion of the fitting is very long does not close completely and requires a rubber spacer to allow it to clamp tightly on any surface under 1/4" inch. I am a novice at boat repair and this is perhaps an industry standard, but was surprised that I had to purchase a spacer separately.[...]
