The ACR AquaFix 406 Personal Locator Beacon transmits distress signals globally, in locations where radios and cell phones are out of range. From the depths of a deep canyon or half way across the Atlantic Ocean, the locator beacon sends a personalized signal to Search & Rescue personnel via satellites. Once you register your emergency beacon, the identifying code tells the emergency personnel who you are, where you are, and that you are in a life threatening emergency. The small, light Aquafix PLB easily stores in a backpack, PFD or a foul weather gear pocket. It measures 5.7" H, 3.03" W, 1.74" D, and weighs only 12 ounces. The ACR AquaFix 406 PLB includes a durable rubber holster which attaches to webbing straps, carabiners, D-Rings, PFDs, belts or climbing harnesses. The body is encased in durable rubber and floats. It can transmit an identifying coded signal and a localized homing signal for over 24 hours. Two models are available. Both have the ability to interface with an external GPS for immediate position transmissions in the distress signal. AquaFix Model ACR-27974 also boasts an internal GPS. ACR's FastACQ technology relays accurate GPS information to the satellites fast for highest chance of rescue.
