Seafarer - Shrink Wrap Accessories - Support Pole End Cap
Seafarer Support Pole End-Caps are designed to fit the top and bottom of 2" X 4" uprights that are used as supports under shrinkwrap covers. As the cover is shrunk, the four corner sections flex downward forming a protective pad to eliminate pole poke through. When used as a pole bottom, the Seafarer Support Pole End-Caps hold the pole upright to keep the base from slipping and also cushiond the 2" X 4" bottom to prevent scratching of paint or gelcoat. Seafarer Support Pole End-Caps are constructed from high density polyethylene for durability and ease of use.

I used 2 of these per pole, one on the top and one on the bottom so the 2x4 would not make an indentation in the carpeting on my pontton.
