Fiberglass Biaxial Cloth and Tape
Biaxial fabric is non-woven. It consists of two layers that are stitched together, and instead of the fiber strands lying along the roll and across at 90 degree as in conventional woven fabrics, they lie
at +/- 45 degrees to the edges.
Biaxial Cloth -- #1708 E-glass Biaxial (+/-45) Cloth with 3/4 oz mat backing. Cut yardage not returnable. Biaxial fiberglass consists of two non-woven layers at 45 degree fiber angles. Polyester yarn and mat backing are used to knit the cloth. Using biaxal fiberglass cloth means less resin is necessary, the ability to lay fiber in the direction you want, and conforms easily.
Biaxal tape is E-glass fiberglas with the same 45 degree fiber orientation. Light stitching used to hold together. Features flat, crimped fibers, and also lends higher stiffness compared to woven. Great for reinforcing and repair jobs. We have 4" widths with no backing. We also have biaxial cloth tape with 3/4 oz mat backing in 4 and 6" widths.
