Atwood marine water heaters not only heat water quickly and efficiently, but also deliver every possible ounce of usable hot water from the tank. Each Atwood electric water heater is equipped with an Incalloy heating element designed to withstand accidental operation on an empty tank. The electrical system is ignition protected and meets UL specifications.
To quickly heat water when under power, Atwood has developed efficient heat exchangers. Each heat exchanger is specifically designed for the water heater's capacity resulting in very short heat up times. These heat exchangers use double tube construction, which prevents any possibility of engine coolant contaminating the fresh water system.
The casings of every Atwood water heater are made of corrosion resistant materials and carefully painted to stand up against the most corrosive marine environments.

2013-05-18Leona Maggio: Not really. However, if all the wiring looks good with no corrosion, AI would call Atwood Tech services. I found them very nice to speak with. I replaced mine after 15 years because it was leaking.
2013-04-21A shopper asked: can i get a thermostat 92943 ?

2012-05-21A shopper asked: Does it matter which is the cold inlet and the hot outlet? If so which is which.

2012-05-21RICHARD COFFEY: sorry, do not know if it matters, and I don't know off hand which is which.
2012-05-21KEITH METZGER: Yes, the cold inlet is on the right side of the unit, below the pressure relief valve.
2012-05-21RONALD DEYOUNG: Yes, it matters greatly. Mine is marked clearly on the steel casing in raised letters.
2012-05-22HENRY BAKER: Yes. Water will not heat well if water in is hooked up to water out. It has to do with with the way the water is heated on the inside of the heater.
2012-02-25A shopper asked: how many amps does this need?
I assume it is electric?

2012-03-19RICHARD FREHS: Sorry, I do not know since I have not installed this in the boat. I received this late in the season and the dock water was hot enough to take dock showers. This unit is scheduled to go in the boat this spring.
2012-04-24BRENT COATS: 15A TO 20A WORKS GOOD!!
2012-01-26A shopper asked: I am using this machine on a ranch...first time user. I have it hooked up to 240 v but I am not getting hot water. Maybe my plumbing is wrong. I only have one single handle shower valve ( do I need one that will have a hot and cold?)
Thanks,
Dave

2012-02-21RICHARD FREHS: Dave,
The heater is run on 110 volts not 240. I would say you most likely burned it out.
2011-10-12STEVE WILLIAMS asked: I have an older 6 gallon atwood marine heater in my boat, model EHH6-SH or EHN6-SN, specification 480081
which is 12" wide x 16" long x 13" high - the connections look similiar - mine is 1500 max wattage, 120 volt
will this model interchange with mine?

2011-11-15RICHARD FREHS: Steve,
I was told to take down the exact set-up you have on your original so the connections will work. Then order a replacement. I have never done this task before, but wanted a higher grade replacement for my boat. Since it was the end of the season, I decided to wait until spring before installing the new tank. I did not want to risk a mistake and then have it freeze over in Ohio. I will replace this in the spring and then have it checked by the professionals. This was one thing less I had to winterize this year.
Rich
The water heater is indentical to the unit it replaced which is a huge advantage. More corrosion resistant mounting feet would be a nice improvement. [...]
