This marine engine warning kit consists of a buzzer that sounds when your boat's engine oil pressure is too low or if the engine coolant temperature is too high. For inboard and I/O engines with 12 VDC electrical systems.

Kit Includes warning buzzer, oil pressure switch and temperature switch.
Buzzer: (No. 4099) has an impact resistant ABS resin case and moisture repellent insulator. The Buzzer sounds when the engine is started and continues until operating oil pressure is reached.
Oil pressure switch: (No. 8606) operates at 2 to 6 p.s.i.
Temperature switch: (No. 84251) operates at 200F (+/- 10F).

Relitatively easy to install. Given that many boats don't get used that often you never know when an impeller or water hose will give out. This device ensures that a loud buzzer will go off if you have an overheating problem (or oil pressure failure which is far less likely). So if anyone is driving the boat, you just need to tell them to switch off the motor if the buzzer goes off.

The buzzer is loud enough to be heard in most installations. Engine gauges are good- but you must be looking right at them when trouble occurs to be useful. The buzzer goes off right when the problem happens. I like to wire in a signal light too.
