New Fuller stainless steel countersinks and high speed steel fast spiral drills that are specifically designed to be the best tools on the market for pre-drilling for deck screws, particularly in hard, dense wood such as IPE.
When used in combination the appropriate Fuller Stop Collar, SS countersinks can be used to sink screw heads flush or cut deep enough for plugging. W. L. Fuller countersinks cut clean and are hardened for long wear. 3/8 diameter shank to chuck on for durability is held in place with two hex socket screws. Care must be taken to ensure the set screws are set into the flute of the drill.
Additionally, the included HSS drill has a tighter twist rate designed to allow for more rapid chip removal than standard twist drills.
