Monel staples contain roughly 66 percent nickel and 33 percent copper. This is a unique alloy that prevents them from creating the galvanic corrosion that stainless steel staples form when they come in contact with metal screen or steel fasteners. Arrow T-50 staples.

Questions & Answers about Monel Staples T-50:
2012-10-22A shopper asked: can you use the monel staples in a pneumatic staple gun and if so which one?
2012-03-05LARRY STRATTON asked: What length should I use for stapling vinyl to wood base when making seat cushions? 3/8?
+Expand Answers
2012-03-05BOB TAYLOR: 5/16 would be ok, thanks bob
2012-03-05DANIEL WILLIAMS: The answer depends on the thickness of the wood. 3/8" should be good enough, but if the wood is 5/8" thick I would use a 1/2" staples.
2012-03-05HELENA MULLINS: Dear Larry,
I use 3/8 monel staples when stapling single thickness vynal to wood.
If I am stapling multiple layers such as piping and cover, I use 1/2 inch.
Hand staplers can be tough so keep control of the gun and use hand
pressure when stapling. I have fashioned a great tool for driving the
staples deeper into the project. It is a large flat head screwdriver which
I ground off enough of the head to make a flat surface. Placed over the
injected staple and tapped with a small hammer gives the project a secure finish.
Good luck,
H M Mullins
2012-03-05Larry Stratton: Thanks all. Helena's answer raises one of my concerns - that a longer staple might not be fully driven by the stapler. I am doing single thickness, except for the pleats at the corners, so will use 3/8 Monel. Thanks again.
2012-03-05RALPH LONGFELLOW: I have used both 1/4 and 3/8. I feel better with the 3/8.
2012-03-06TIM GARDNER: Larry,
It depends on the substrate thickness. For 3/8" ply one would use 1/4" . For1/2, 3/8" is good.

2012-03-06STEVEN QUAST: I USED 5/16 FOR THE SEATS AND 1/4 FOR THE THIN SIDE BOARDS. I SPACED THEM RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER LIKE THE ORIGINAL. I PURCHASED AN ELECTRIC STAPLER AND IT WAS WELL WORTH IT
2012-03-06RICHARD KIMBALL: 3/8 would be fine, unless there are multiple layers of vinyl more then 3/16 thick; then use 1/2.
2012-02-06RONIA HUTCHINSON asked: are they bronze in color, and will they fit in a craftsman staple gun?
+Expand Answers
2012-02-06BRAD SHAFFER: Hi Ronia, These are not bronze in color, more like dull nickle. With regards to fitting a Craftsman Staple Gun; they are made to fit the Arrow T-50. Alot of OEMs like Sears Craftsman may use the T-50 size. Check the Craftsman web site to be sure. Thx.

2012-02-06DAVID KRUGLER: Dull silver color, should fit a Craftsman gun designed for t-50 staples. I used these because the application was installation of vinyl flooring and seating for a boat where rust-proof is a must.
2012-02-06MARK DEFRIECE: Not Bronze colored.
Craftsman makes a T-50 stapler. If that's the one you have, then yes
2012-02-06DENNIS MACIEJEWSKI: The color is more stainless steel in appearance and the are narrower than those for my Craftsman stapler. They measure at 0.4175 for overall outside width.
2012-02-06WILLIAM DOWNING: No,there not bronze colored, there the same color as a regular staple.
Very rust resistant ,better than stainless.Great for outdoors or Marine use.
I'm using them to staple new marine vinyl on my side boards inside my boat I'm restoring.
I had a hard time finding them, even on the internet.
2012-02-07GEORGE BYRAM: They are silver in color but I don't know about the Craftsman stapler. I think that is 1/2 in and the staples are 5/8 but I am not sure.
2012-02-07MICHAEL SROKA: They are not bronze in color, more of a silver look. They are standard T-50 size, so I would expect them to fit a Craftsman stapler, but you should check the stapler (the staple size is usually embossed on it somewhere)., as there are several common staple sizes. Worst case, buy some standard T-50 (cheap) staples to test it before buying the monel ones.
2012-02-08NINA M CAPORALE: Hi Ronia,
I bought the staples and they are not bronze, they look just
like any other staple.
as long as you bought the T50 type, they should fit in any
standard staple gun.
staple guns usually can shoot a few different sizes. To be sure,
you would have to check the manual for the gun.
