3M PPS Sun Gun Color Matching Lights are the first portable source of simulated daylight for gel coat and paint finishing applications. The Sun Gun reveals true color that is often distorted by fluorescent and incandescent lights, making correct color matching virtually impossible.
The 3M Sun Gun features an internal power regulator that ensures a steady stream of power to the halogen bulb resulting in a consistent beam of light with a near-perfect balance to the color spectrum of natural daylight. Use it like a flashlight to find surface defects like scratches, pin holes, swirl marks and areas of inconsistent coverage, eliminating costly multiple paint or gelcoat applications. Gun has built in cooling fan and thermal protection shut-off to prevent unit from overheating. In the event of shut-off, fan will continue to run until unit is cool.

The Sun Gun makes it easier to view and select variant color chips, confirm color-match using test-panels, check for proper metallic lay-out and blend edges for halos.
Halogen bulb has two intensity settings, 1 trigger pull is low power (35 watts) and 2 trigger pulls (near 50 watts).
The initial charge should be at least 8 hours or overnight. It may take as many as three or more charges for the battery pack to reach full capacity. Once the battery has reached full capacity it will take 1-1/2 to 4 hours to fully charge the battery from a completely discharged state.
