2013-02-16DONALD SHELTON: It is possible, but unlikely. Staples come in various sizes. These are heavy duty staples, not designed to be used in your standard desktop stapler. But if you have a stapler that can use this this size stapler (and the sizes that a stapler can use should be marked somewhere on the stapler, if not then then these staples probably won't work) then yes, Also staple guns generally are designed to apply more driving force to push the staple into the substrate to which you are fastening rather than just using the force applied with your hand.

2013-02-18MARK WALLACE: You will need a staple gun that uses t-50 type staples. Standard staplers used for stapling papers together are a much thiner steel. With a staple gun you still need good contact with whatever you are putting staples in and some penetration problems with 1/2 or 9/16 inch lenths in hard wood

2013-02-25MATTHEW CAWTHORNE: I bought them to use in a manual staple gun and they work fine. They are heavier than the staples for a standard stapler. I can not say for certain, but if you don't receive replies from anyone else with respect to this question, I would bet that they would not work in a standard stapler.

2011-09-06RICHARD VANDERWIELE: Janestown's stainless staples are perfect for upholstery work. They are what I used for all of the new panels on my 19' cuddy. They hold well, feed perfectly in my staplers (both electric and hand held) and do not rust. I would recommend them to anyone, Rich V. Hardwick, NJ
2011-09-06DONALD FERNANDEZ: I have had good results with these staples. I use them for many applications on the boat. I am in the Gulf of Mexico so humidity is high and the salt is present. The most moist application I have used them in is the engine compartment where I use them to keep the noise and fire proofing on the engine compartment walls. I have had no signs of rust in any of the applications although non of these are directly expose to outside atmosphere.
2011-09-06MICHAEL ABERNETHY: I would assume they are suitable.
I used them to temporarily attach fiberglass cloth to plywood prior to epoxy coating. Once the Epoxy cured, I sanded the coating down and the staples were exposed to the weather and rain for several weeks before I finished my cioating work.
They did not rust during the time period they were exposed to the weather.
2011-09-06GARY APOSTOLAKOS: I have used these staples for bolsters and cushions for my rear seat in an open fisherman. I have also used them on the trailer bunks for new rugs. They dad not rust and held up well. Good luck
2011-09-06DAN LLEWELLYN: I have used them for various applications on my boat including stapling new vinyl onto an older seat frame and they show no signs of rust after 3 years.
2011-09-06GEOFFREY HOOTS: resist is the key word. mine were used on some beach chairs and they made it through a 2month season in the bahamas. in general i think stainless is an an overstatement for 316
2011-09-07RON ARDECKI: I have found these SS staples to be rust resistant. Where I found previous staples had rusted, it appeared that they did not dry well after rain or washing (tell tale stains on the fiberglass surface) so I dabbed some clear finger-nail polish on those in that area. Works for me.
