Other Spray pressures listed are recommendations only. The applicator may use any settings which yield the best results for the individual spraying technique and current weather conditions. Bilgekote is best applied in thin coats.

Cons

    Best Uses

    • Holds up well against sandy foot traffic.

    • Works well on already painted wooden bilges.

    Comments about Interlux Bilgekote:

After using this product on a new wooden boat in my rental boat fleet we were so impressed with its outcome we decided to paint our entire fleet's bilges. The end result will be less painting for us next year AND a better seal on the worn wooden floors of our boats. It even sealed and coated previously painted areas very well. The boats look great and are better able to stand up to daily summer use.

          Comments about Interlux Bilgekote:

Used kiwigrip as non-skid on the swimstep and it came out great. Very happy with the product and its ease of use. I scrubbed and pressure washed the old non-skid (which was LP/sand) and rolled the kiwigrip over the top. No problems with adhesion and it looks like new.

Used Bilgekote on the interior of my 1970 oday rhodes 19. Over the last 5 years I have I have recoated ir three times. Each time I only put one coat on. It needs multiple coats for coverage but it has held up well and is easy to clean with a sponge. I think this is a great product and will last for a very long time.

                Comments about Interlux Bilgekote:

I have a 1970 Rhodes 19 I have completely restored, about four years ago. I used Interlux Bilgekote on the complete interior. First cleaned bilge very well with soap and water. Scraped and sanded any old paint and loose fiberglass for a smooth surface. cleaned again with soap and water. With a brush and roller put on two coats.
After four years I just cleaned it well again and put one coat on. This has been easy to maintain and keep clean. The bilge is wet all the time and for the most part all I have to do is rinse it down wipe it dry to keep it looking great.

                Comments about Interlux Bilgekote:

I used this paint for the cockpit in my late 60s Oday Daysailer I. Since its an open cockpit single wall boat, the cockpit is also the bilge so I wanted a hard wearing paint that could take the water and the abuse. I don't have any long term reliability, ie just painted a few days ago I can say this: This paint goes on easy with a roller and looks great. Dries quickly and with 3 coats it has left a hard glossy finish I'm really happy with.

Preparation is everything, so make sure to sand and prep the surface accordingly. And either spring for the Brushing Liquid 333 or make your own at home (Protip: MSDS sheets list ingredients)
