These are great drink holders. We had them on our last sailboat and recently purchased 4 more for our new sailboat.
However, I strongly suggest that you take a pair of pliers and close the gap were the holder goes over the lifeline. These are all metal drink holders and once they jump off the lifeline...it straight to the bottom.

Started with four of these, now down to one. Lost two the first time out, then another one a week later. They bounce off the lifeline at the slightest touch. If I had learned my lesson, I would've affixed them with a tie-wrap or something. If they had a snap closure, they'd be great!
