Bernard Lightweight Floating Winch Handle

This non-corrosive winch handle is a perfect, low-cost alternative to traditional winch handles. Constructed of reinforced engineering-grade resins and aluminum, this handle is non-magnetic and will not rust. Best of all, it floats! Although they are strong, these handles are NOT intended to replace bronze handles.

Why bother?

Comments about Bernard Lightweight Floating Winch Handle:

Floats and is lightweight, but I broke this thing in half on a single-speed winch raising my main on a Laguna 22. You'd think it would be stronger than that. I ordered I good ol' fashioned metal one - it won't float, but it also won't fail!

Comments about Bernard Lightweight Floating Winch Handle:

I just returned from sailing with my Bernard winch handle in two pieces! It broke in half under medium load. I have another Bernard winch handle that I'm going to replace this afternoon because I don't want to risk having another one break!!

Comments about Bernard Lightweight Floating Winch Handle:

The square insert fits my star-shaped winch socket all right, but there is nothing to keep it in place but gravity. I wanted an inexpensive spare, and this will be my backup, but I prefer another floating handle that locks in place.
