Application Instructions:

Apply solution and lightly scrub across grain with white scotch-brite or soft bristle brush
If applying in direct sunlight, rinse frequently before drying occurs.

2011-12-01ERNEST BASS: If the actual question is about the cleaner, I think it worked as good or better than anything else I've used.
If the question is how to lay a teak deck, that is more complicated depending on where and what kind, teak w/black caulk, teak and holli, teak over plywood, teak over fiberglassglass.... I like teak decking systems epoxy, it mixes well, trowels well, dries well and is thick to take up gaps. I've used it over birch ply and over fiberglass. Main thing is to lay out teak dry, make sure it's spaced properly before putting it down in epoxy. Also make sure teak is cleaned well using acetone to remove oil for a good bond before putting it down in epoxy. Use a notched trowel to spread epoxy "crosswase" to the length of the teak. Put teak down 4-5 boards at a time and let dry.
There's a lot to it but really no more than putting down tile. Spacing needs to be right to make it look good and all boards need to be set into the epoxy so they are level at the top.............

i ude this product for three years and for it is the best product to clean the bridge.
I first wet throuly the teack deck.
the I apply the solution wiyh a white scrubbing tampon.
I let the product work for 2-5 minutes
then I brush side way from the grain of the wood.
rince with water (a lot)
dont let the product dry on the teack.
I do it 2-3 times during a season. no more
result is great !

2011-07-18ROBERT BUCK: I have used Teakdecking's liquid and powdered cleaners, but only on bear teak. Both work and both are fairly mild, although the liquid seems milder (easier on the wood, but doesn't clean as well). I don't know how good these cleaners are at removing teak oil, but I would think they should. I would strongly recommend against using anything harsher on the table. Two part cleaners will remove natural oils and raise the grain. You probably will have to lightly sand the table to get the scratches out and remove stubborn stains. This shouldn't hurt if the scratches and stains aren't too deep. I don't think either the liquid or the powder will hurt your table.
2011-07-18ROBERT TULLMAN: TDS cleaner works very well (on a boat). Likely will work on the table but I think the grain runs the other way - would check on the underside first. I refinished a scandinavian dining room table 20 years ago... mother still has it... I sanded it and then oiled it with teak oil. Came out beautiful. Again, try underside first.
If you have scratches and water stains some sanding will likely be required.

Depending on the depth of the stain on your teak table, it should work for you. Jamestown also carries a two part teak cleaner that will get the deeper stains out of the teak. It also contains a teak brightener.
I myself would not use too much teak oil on your indoor table.

Regrettably I do not have experience in what you request, i.e. teak furniture that is usually inside-doors. I have been exposed to a vessel teak deck which it is quite different in looks, properties and use. The main consideration here is to wash with a mild environmental conscious soap, periodically, with the help of a very soft linen, 3M(TM) pad blue pad is the maximum tolerable medium to be used in my experience. To me so called oil teak is a no no as it reduces the grip properties on deck. May be once a few years, i would give the wood a treatment with oxalic acid through a commercial single-part teak cleaner. Never, ever use steel wool but again a soft Scotchbride(TM) pad. Once again, this is my experience on out-of-door teak decks which may not necessarily work in your case.

I have used this powder several times to clean the teak deck of my sailboat. The deck had been neglected for years before I bought the boat so I needed two applications to get the results I was looking for before I applied a teak sealer. The new finish is exactly what I was hoping for. I used the powder full strength as I sprinkled it onto a wet surface followed by a medium bristle brush across the grain to help lift the stains and discoloration. The powder worked better than a two part system I had used last year. Since there was no other finish on my teak deck I can't comment on what you might find on your table with the same process. I can report that this powder does clean very well and it it a lot easier to use than any two part system. Also, since you mentioned that the table is very old I think the powder will be easier on the soft teak grain. Do not be tempted to use any pressure washing system to do the cleaning it will destroy the surface of the teak. After the cleaning you will need to sand the surface smooth with a med-fine sandpaper to smooth the raised grain and fibers before sealing.

2011-07-22LOWELL LARSEN: We used the cleaner on our boat teak decking and it fully lifted dirt dust and salts from the decking. There was no oil or finish on the surface before that. It did not lift any of the natural oils in the wood and that was the good aspect, you want to keep the natural oils and some of the 2-part removers take that out. You should try an area on the backside of a leaf or the bottom side of the table, before doing the front. I assume the teak is solid plank. This is a cleaner not a protector.
2011-07-23ERNEST BASS: This powder worked good for me. Scrub w/soft brush across the grain not w/the grain. Problem with the oil is it darkens with age and it catches dirt and smears anything that rubs it into the finish. The two part teak cleaners work good but they do remove fine layers of wood. For something that has been indoors, should not be a problem.
I have used every finish I know of. After the teak is clean, because it is indoors and a table, might try a high quality varnish or even a urethane on it. Would have to spray it to make it look good unlees you wet/dry sand w/600-2000 grit afterwards.
Just my opinion for what it's worth.......
