MDR Whip-End Dip seals any thickness rope end. Permanent, tough and flexible in colors of clear, red or white. Whip-End works on manila, nylon and poly ropes. Resists salt water, gasoline, oil and acid. Indicates depths on anchor lines. Makes a vibration-free bedding compound. Lasts the life of the rope. Free applicator brush included.
Whip-end dip is a good way to protect the ends of lines. I don't have the time or desire to hand whip lines the old fashioned way with sailmaker's thread. This stuff is quick but it works.
