Common crepe paper-backed household masking tape conforms well to curved or uneven surfaces. However, it has a rubber-based adhesive which makes it difficult to remove the tape if left on the surface for more than a days. It should be removed as soon as the paint is dry. The ultraviolet rays in sunlight weld the tape's adhesive to the surface, making it less desirable. For tape that stands up to UV rays, we recommend 3M 225 Silver tape.
That being said, general masking tape has thousands of uses and is probably the most popular marking tape ever produced. It is economical, easy to use, and great for uneven surfaces and curves.
