Questions & Answers about Nitrile Exam Gloves:
2011-09-03RITA NICKLAS asked: Will these gloves work with the varnish remover and not dissolve?
+Expand Answers
2011-09-06DAVID FRASE: I have had both the nitrile gloves and latex gloves breakdown using various paint thinners and solvents. I've used thicker rubber gloves and they seem to hold up ok.
2011-09-07Rita Nicklas: Thank you for your answer. It helps a lot.
2011-09-06MARK CHIDISTER: I have not used them with varnish removers but have used them with a wide variety of finishes, oils, and petroleum based solvents including the solvents used in spar varnish and they hold up just fine.

2011-09-06BURGESS BRYANT: Hello,
I don't know about varnish remover but I use mine with 80% alchohol, epoxy ,laquer thinner and acetone.
2011-09-07JIM SLOAN: I wouldn't use them for that. They will start to dissolve I use them when we lay fiberglass on boat repairs.
2011-09-08DAVID RYAN: They are better by far than Latex but any solvent will eventually eat them up. I consider them disposable and change them often. Some days I go through lots of gloves
2011-09-09ATTN. WILL GATES OR ANDY SHAW: Sorry Rita, I haven't exposed these gloves to varnish remover, so I can't answer your question.
I was looking for a comfortable glove that provided ability to maintain sense of feel, good grip, and protection from uncured epoxy. This glove has met all those criteria. I thought the gloves would be a bit longer to provide more wrist protection, but have had no problems.

Comments about Boss Nitrile Exam Gloves:
These gloves work nicely for all of the common shop chores such as painting and use of adhesives. Great grip/no slip and generally do not tear.
One other use that I have in restoration work is protection of the hands during glazing of old wooden sashes. These gloves work as well as unprotected hands, a major plus.

Comments about Boss Nitrile Exam Gloves:
With these Gloves, my Hands don't get covered in Body Filler. Once I've finished applying the Filler, I simply remove the Gloves, and my Hands are almost as clean, as if I hadn't done anything.

Comments about Boss Nitrile Exam Gloves:
The gloves are good and I've started using them for all sorts of messy work that I hadn't bothered using gloves for in the past. Price is right. I'm 6'3, 250+ and found them a little tight. Hard to put on if your hands are wet - i.e., from sweating in the last pair.

Comments about Boss Nitrile Exam Gloves:
Nitrile gloves are the way to go when you need hand protection. I use them in the garage when servicing autos- around the house when painting, varnishing, etc. It is a not much fun to have stained hands, greasy, grimy fingers, etc. after doing the chores. the gloves are much tougher than latex. I always keep a box in the shop.
