2013-03-22DOUG NAGLE: I have 4 cleats installed on my dock in northern WI, 2 on each side so I can tie up my 20 ft pontoon on either side depending on which way the wind is blowing. I use 1/2 inch nylon lines with a stainless steel latch clamp on the boat side ( one on each corner of the boat ). This system has worked well over the last 10 years with no problems. If you are tying up a much larger boat & think you need a stronger line, then I would go to a larger cleat. Hope this helps.
