Wooden Paint stir sticks are commonly used to mix paints, epoxies and other general coatings. Made out of wood, these sticks may be reused, but are inexpensive enough that they are disposable as well. Wood paint sticks are available in 10" and 14", and can be sold in small units or in large bulk for wholesale.

2013-05-18LISA WALTERS asked: do you have the LARGE stir sticks like for a 5 gallon bucket?
2013-01-17TIM HOPKINS asked: How wide is this paint stick ?
+Expand Answers
2013-01-17TAMARA CLELAND: 1 inch
2013-01-17WILLIAM HANWAY: I have used mine up, but I measured a stick from lowe's and it is 1.25 inches wide. I think the sticks from Jamestown might be about that size or a little thinner. Their quality is better than the big box store's sticks.
2013-01-06A shopper asked: what type of wood is this wooden stir stick ?

2013-01-07BRUCE LANDSTRA: I'm guessing poplar as there is really no grain pattern. We use them to mix very thick two-part epoxy resin grout/adhesive to fill seams in epoxy resin countertops. They work well for our purpose -- they don't break.
2012-06-29A shopper asked: how do u clean them?

2012-06-29ANN LOPER: I don't. Students decorate them & use as shelf helpers in the library. At the end of the school year, I use them to start bonfires at our cottage. Start over every year with new paint sticks.
2012-07-02RAYMOND WILLIAMS: We do not clean them, we treat them as a single use item. We are an adhesives manufacturer and use them to help pour paste materials from a drum into smaller containers. We use them and dispose of them into our waste stream.
2012-05-22A shopper asked: Hi are you able to have company logo put on the paint sticks?

2012-05-23Ryan L: At this time we do not have the ability to print anything on these sticks. They are sold bare.
2012-03-04RYRY S asked: How wide are the 14" sticks. Also, if I cut the rounded portion off, how long would the bottom be? looking for blank wooden rectangles.

2012-03-05PHILLIP PIERCE: The stir sticks are 1" wide. Not sure where you are talking about cutting the stick off. It is 11" from the end of the stir stick to the beginning of the indentations on the side where the "handle"starts. The indentations are very clost to 1 1/16" long. Hope this helps.
2012-03-05BRANDY RINCK: Off the top of my head they are about an inch to an inch and a half thick. I used them already and do not have any around to measure for you, sorry.
2012-01-23A shopper asked: do you sell 21" long paint stir sticks?

2012-01-23Ryan L: At this time we only sell 10" and 14" stir sticks.
2012-01-05KELLY BUSH asked: Do the sticks come in colors...I would like to use as shelf markers in my library and it would awesome if we could get in orange?

2012-01-05Ryan L: Unfortunately, these are only available in wood finish.
2011-11-29LAM VU asked: Do you have 10" wooden stir stick with no curve on the handle
and It's free shipping to Canada too?

2011-11-30Ryan L: We do not have the sticks with no curve. Free shipping is only for the Continental United States.
2011-11-21DUKE REIMAN asked: Has anyone put any heat on these.? I wanted to use for a pizza on a stick

2011-11-21TRACIE KENYON: No, heat. I just used them to hold up a sign.
2011-11-22BRANDY RINCK: I have not used for heat, but I assume they would hold up to something hot against them. I would not put them in the oven at significant heat though.

Great for CRAFTS too!
I used these sticks to make the handles on wedding fan programs. These are also a good buy for crafters looking to buy in bulk.

not the same

I ordered these to also make wedding program fans. They are a good price, and seem decent enough - but definitely don't look the same as the product listing, nor the other post's image with her wedding program. These ones seem less smooth and rounded edges...I'm hoping that these wont cause any splinters!

Not used for painting jobs. I use the sticks for stick puppets. Children love the easy use of the handles and the designs that I put on the the sticks are very attractive. I have given these sticks to teachers that I work with and they are very pleased with the durability of this product.

Using the paint stirring sticks for library shelf markers. The thinner sticks tend to splinter and break after a couple of months. I anticipate that these thicker, more sturdy sticks will endure longer. Thanks.

Comments about Jamestown Distributors Wooden Stir Sticks:
I bought 440 of these paint sticks to make a fan by attaching a photo of someone we were recognizing at our church for all of his hard work in making one of our fundraisers a huge success. The sticks were lightweight but sturdy. They were made of solid wood. With this volume I would have expected some of them to have split, but all of them were solid. And the price was right. Thanks Jamestown.
