Found with a simple Google search.
Shortest is 1.23" inside length.

2012-02-10JOHN MARTINO: Lap the two links opposite each and peen the pins down. A steel plate under the link helps the peening process.
2012-02-10CHARLES BLAND: The two halves fit together such that they can be peened/hammered together for a permanent link.
2012-02-17RALPH H. MAJOR III: There are two pieces. Simply put, you put them together around an existing link and then use a ballpeen (sp?) hammer to mash down the the two stubs, sealing them together. It's easy to do.
