Camp Donut style shaft zincs are designed to protect drive shafts from corrosion when only limited clearance is available. Zinc Donut Collar contains a copper contact for permanent ground. These zinc anodes provide cathodic protection against corrosion, and therefore should be clamped to an area on the shaft that has clean, unpainted metal.

2012-12-10A shopper asked: How wide is this zinc? I have a 1" diameter prop shaft with a space of 3/4" available between the cutlass bearing and the back of the prop.
There is very little space between my prop and the keel. This zinc fits perfectly in the tight space. It was very easy to install - took me two minutes - and it's snug. The spring-loaded copper ball ensures continuous contact with the shaft. Very well made.
